According to the Phuket office of the Immigration Bureau, Phuket International Airport reported 75,237 international travellers from November 1st –10th, having completed one-third of the month. The data was issued by the Phuket Info Center, which is run by the Phuket Governor's Office.
The average daily arrivals during the period of November 1st - 10th were 7,523, with a peak of 8,089 on November 5.
During the month of October, the average daily number of passengers was just 5,448. The total population for the month of October was 166,449 individuals.
On lines 11 through 20, foreign nations and territories such as France, Sweden, Israel, Poland, South Africa, Switzerland, Denmark, Hong Kong, Oman, and Italy are listed.
Thus, European nations (excluding Russia) have eight of the top-20 positions for November 1st - 10th.
The current top ten differs from both the October rating and the six-month ranking from May to October.
Late in September, a dramatic increase in daily Russian arrivals was seen. When compared to the monthly average of 3,443 from May to September, October's number of 23,098 arrivals is a big jump.
The Kingdom of Thailand was still very popular with Russian tourists in October, even though it wasn't as popular as Kazakhstan or Georgia. Late in the month of October, Aeroflot and IKAR restarted their direct flights from Moscow to Phuket, bolstering Russian tourism. With two daily flights by Aeroflot and three weekly flights by IKAR, arrivals by Russian citizens totaled 12,794 between November 1 and November 7. This is three times the monthly average for the months of May through September in only one week.
The Russian Federation Consulate-General in Phuket applauded the recovery of the Russian travel business, saying, "Due to the reinstatement of regular flights to Phuket by Russian airlines, the number of Russian tourists has increased significantly".
In the six months from May to October, a total of 40,315 Russians entered the United States. India (151,461 arrivals), Australia (71,839), Singapore (57,498), Malaysia (44,627), and the United Kingdom (42,940) sent more people to Phuket than any other country.
