Sunday marked the return of Thai Vietjet's international service between Bangkok and Da Lat after almost three years of stoppage due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

The service will run between Suvarnabhumi and Da Lat every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

At Lien Khuong International Airport, passengers were welcomed by the dance "Blooming in the Sky" and a lottery draw for flying tickets from Thai Vietjet.

The capital city of Lam Dong province is Da Lat, which is known for its beautiful flowers, charming towns, majestic valleys, waterfalls, and lakes.

Leaders of the Lam Dong Department of Tourism and the People's Committee of Lam Dong Province greeted the arrival of aircraft VZ940.

Woranate Laprabang, Thai Vietjet's chief executive officer, said: "We are thrilled to unite Thailand with one of Vietnam's most popular tourist sites, 'Da Lat,' the city of flowers with stunning natural surroundings. We have chosen to reinstate direct flight service between Bangkok and Da Lat in order to give Thai travellers additional options and flexibility for travel to Vietnam, as well as to welcome Vietnamese visitors to Thailand.

"Since tourism is back to where it was before the pandemic, we are sure that the service between the two places will help the region's rising travel demand and the economic recovery of both countries."

Thai Vietjet worked with the Vietjet Group to get its international service back up and running. It now has flights from Bangkok to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Phu Quoc, as well as flights from Phuket and Chiang Mai to Ho Chi Minh City.

Thai Vietjet has extended its international flight network to a variety of popular tourist locations, including Singapore, Fukuoka (Japan), Da Nang and Phu Quoc (Vietnam), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), and Taipei, providing customers with additional options.
