Trat Airport is one of the smallest airports in Thailand and is the third flight hub to be operated by traditional airline Bangkok Airways. It started operating only in April 2003 and serves the province of Trat.
The airfield, just like any airport operated by Bangkok Airways, boasts of an open-air design surrounded by rubber plantations and pineapple orchards. It is also able to accommodate both domestic and international flights with the operator offering landing and take-off services.
Trat Airport is located 35 kilometers away from the city center, only 30 minutes by car; 15 kilometers from the ferry pier to Koh Chang, and 70 kilometers away from Chantaburi province.
At present, the airport is open only from 6 am to 10 pm and handles only four departing and four arriving flights to Bangkok via Suvarnabhumi Airport.
Bangkok Airways equipped Trat Airport with several facilities for passengers such as a car park, a cafe, toilets, a transfer desk, an ATM, and free WiFi services at the departure hall.
Bangkok Airways offers limousine services for passengers arriving at Trat Airport with two options to choose from: a shared transfer or a private transfer. Transfer services operate to Bang Bao from White Sand Beach.
If choosing a shared transfer, a one-way fare costs 500 baht per person, while a roundtrip ticket costs 900 baht.
For the private option, a one-way fare costs 3,500 baht while a roundtrip fare costs 6,000 baht.
